Starting in 2018, the Village of Niles underwent a rebranding initiative. The transformation included a new sign design featuring a white background, a black legend, the newly created Village of Niles logo, and new wayfinding signs throughout the village. The village chose the Avery Dennison TrafficJet Print System to produce many of the new signs.
This rebranding effort signifies a fresh start for the community, as it aims to create a cohesive and visually appealing identity for the village and spur even more economic growth. The decision to use a white background with black lettering on street signs signifies simplicity and elegance while ensuring maximum visibility for residents and visitors alike.
Furthermore, incorporating the new Village of Niles logo adds another layer of distinction to these signs. The logo represents unity and progress within the community, symbolizing growth and development. By prominently displaying this logo on various signage throughout the village, it is a constant reminder of its unique identity. Given the project's scope and what it represented to the village and its residents, it was important to the village's sign department that the signs demonstrate a commitment to quality and durability. As such, they chose Avery Dennison's TrafficJet Print System. With TrafficJet, not only did the village receive the industry's longest sign warranty of ten years on custom colors for the logoed signs (and up to 15 years on standard traffic colors), but they also received exceptional service and increased the department's efficiency.
