Georges Gravanis
President, Label and Graphic Materials – Europe

Georges Gravanis is president of the Label and Graphic Materials business for Avery Dennison. He is currently based in The Netherlands.

Georges is responsible for managing the $4.5 billion global pressure-sensitive materials businesses comprised of Label and Packaging Materials, Graphics Solutions and Reflective Solutions.

He was elected to this position in April 2015 by the Board of Directors after serving as vice president and general manager of the Asia Pacific division of the Materials Group since August 2010. Prior to that, Georges held several leadership roles with Avery Dennison, including vice president of sales, Roll Materials Europe, from May 2006 to July 2010; vice president/general manager, Roll Materials Europe Southern Region, from March 2004 to April 2006; and general manager, Roll Materials France, from May 2003 to March 2004.

Before joining Avery Dennison, Georges held various business, manufacturing and product development positions in notable chemical companies across the UK, USA, France and Germany. He received his doctorate degree in polymer chemistry from Scientific University in Grenoble, France in 1986.


Hassan Rmaile
VP/GM—Global Graphics and Reflective Solutions
VP—Global Technology & Ventures

Hassan Rmaile is Vice President, Global Research and Development for Avery Dennison Label and Graphic Materials, as well as Avery Dennison Industrial and Healthcare Materials. Hassan joined Avery Dennison March 1, 2016.

As Global VP for R&D, Hassan oversees our extensive global R&D network and focuses on identifying new, disruptive applications while continuing to grow the performance and cost attractiveness of our core businesses.

Hassan started his career as a research associate with the Center for Materials Research & Technology (MARTECH) at Florida State University. Hassan holds a bachelor's degree in chemistry from the American University of Beirut (Lebanon), an MBA in finance from the University of Delaware and a Ph.D. in chemistry from Florida State University.

Prior to Avery Dennison, Hassan served as Vice President, Chief Technology and Innovation Officer at H.B. Fuller from 2012 to 2016, leading HB Fuller's innovation & research centers around the globe and co-leading integration of several bolt-on acquisitions. Hassan holds an executive leadership certificate from the University of Minnesota from 2013 and he also has served as a director for the Minnesota High Tech Association since 2012.


Erik Shafer

General Manager—Reflective Solutions

Erik most recently served as global vice president of Avery Dennison's Printer & Fastener Solutions business. Erik has won three Leadership Excellence Awards including Enterprise Lean Sigma in 2006, Employee Engagement in 2009, and Leader of the Year in 2011. Having previously held leadership roles in Reflective Solutions earlier in his career, he brings industry experience and a passion for people leadership which will enable continued growth of our business.

He holds a bachelor degree of science from Bradley University and an Executive MBA from the University of New Hampshire.


Liz Bixeman

Senior Director, Human Resources

Liz joined Avery Dennison in 2007, and is responsible for providing overall strategic HR leadership to her functional and business teams, including leadership and organization development, performance management, training, compensation, staffing, employee relations, and diversity & inclusion initiatives.

During her tenure at Avery Dennison she served in a variety of roles, including regional HR manager, HR business partner for the automotive and industrial specialty businesses, and the Vancive medical group. Prior to joining Avery Dennison, Liz served as manager, employee training, development and communications for Ford Motor Company in Indianapolis.

She holds a Bachelor degree from Butler University and an MBA from the University of Indianapolis.

Kevin Dyer
Director of Operations—Reflective Solutions

Kevin Dyer is responsible for all plant operations, supplier relations, and management for Reflective Solutions. He started his career with Avery Dennison in 1999 and has held various positions including, supply chain manager, plant manager and operations and supply director. Prior to joining Avery Dennison, Kevin worked in Materials Management at Material Science Corporation. He holds a bachelor of science degree from the University of Iowa. Kevin is based in Mt. Prospect, IL.

Ashish Shukla
Global Marketing Director—Reflective Solutions

Ashish Shukla joined Avery Dennison Reflective Solutions in 2008 and has worked in roles of expanding responsibility in sales and business development, serving as Business Director in our China/ASEAN region. In 2016 Ashish was promoted to Global Marketing Director and relocated to the United States.  He leads our product management and technical services organizations, aligning their priorities and executing the growth goals of the business worldwide.

Nirdesh Karnawat
Global Finance Director—Reflective Solutions

Nirdesh Karnawat recently joined Reflective Team as Global Finance Director responsible for leading the overall finance function with strong coordination with North America Shared Service Organization and other regional Finance Teams in MG. Nirdesh has more than 16 years of cross-cultural and international experience in Corporate & Business Finance, Strategy formulation & implementation, treasury, tax internal control and management. He was most recently working as Finance Director for MG South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa. Prior to joining Avery Dennison, he worked with Delphi Automotives, Coca-Cola and Pidilite Industries in various capacities.

Nirdesh is a Chartered Accountant from India and has done Senior Executive Program with Ross School of Business, University of Michigan. He is a sports enthusiast, keen golfer, marathon runner, and an avid reader.

Nikhil Agashe
Global R&D Director—Reflective Solutions

Nikhil Agashe leads the research and development teams for Reflective Solutions with focus on strong partnership between the technical and the other cross-functional teams. Nikhil also represents Reflective Solutions on the Global LGM R&D team. He joined Avery Dennison in 2007 and has held various positions including Sr. Research Engineer and R&D Manager in Reflective Solutions.In his past life, before joining Avery Dennison, Nikhil worked in General Electric, R&D. Nikhil holds a Bachelor's degree from India, and a Masters and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati.

Dan Zampa
Sales Director, Reflective Solutions—North America

Dan Zampa is responsible for profitable sales growth, including regional annual operating plan, business development, regional sales planning, sales operations and customer service. Dan joined Avery Dennison in 1999, serving in increasingly responsible sales management roles for the North American Graphics Direct Business and Reflective Highway Safety Products Division. Prior to joining Avery Dennison, he worked in sales management positions at Stimsonite Corporation and Western Remac Industries. Dan has over 20 years of commercial and technical experience in the traffic, safety and graphic industries. He is Six Sigma Green Belt certified, holds two patents in the reflective business and is a member of American Traffic Safety Service Association, Specialty Graphic Imaging Association and the International Sign Association. He is based in Niles, IL

Carlo Kölker
Business Director, Reflective Solutions—EMEA

Carlo Kölker is responsible for providing strategic direction and execution of this strategy to deliver growth in the Reflective segment. Since joining Avery Dennison in 1996, Carlo has served in positions of increasing responsibility in both sales and marketing. Carlo received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Economics at the Hogeschool Utrecht. Carlo is based in Hazerswoude, The Netherlands.

Mario Escobar
Business Director, Reflective Solutions—South America

Mario Escobar is responsible for leading the execution of a comprehensive strategy to grow the market share and returns of the Traffic and Safety segment in South America. Mario began his career at Avery Dennison in 2000 working as an analyst. He moved on to become finance manager and then commercial manager for Graphic and Reflective Solutions, Brazil in 2010. He holds a bachelor of science in accounting from the Universidad del Valle and a master’s of business administration in finance from EAFIT, Colombia. Mario is also a certified public accountant. He is based in Vinhedo, Brazil.


James Williams
Business Director, Reflective Solutions—Asia Pacific

James Williams is responsible for leading Reflective Solutions business in Australia, New Zealand, South Korea and Japan through sales growth strategies, business development, project pipeline management, and customer relationship management in the region. He earned a Bachelor of Engineering Degree with Honours from RMIT University and an MBA from Deakin University. He joined Avery Dennison in 2005 and is based in Newcastle, Australia.

Amy White
Vice President, Communications—Global Communications

Amy White is responsible for strategy and management of all aspects of communications for Label and Graphic Materials including brand management, digital communications, media relations and employee communications.

Amy has been with Avery Dennison since 1999 and has worked across a variety of functions in Retail Branding and Information Solutions (RBIS), including marketing, communications and sustainability, commercial market development, innovation and product management. During this time, Amy also gained her post-graduate qualifications with the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK).

Amy also serves on the board of the Avery Dennison Foundation and is based in Nottingham, United Kingdom.


Kamran Kian
Vice President—Global Operations + Supply Chain

Kamran Kian is responsible for managing operations and the supply chain at a global level for Avery Dennison's Label and Graphic Materials. He also oversees the Corporate EHS (Environment, Health and Safety) function.

He has served in his currently global capacity since 2006. From 2004 to 2006 Kamran served as Vice President and General Manager of Materials businesses in Australia and New Zealand. From 2000 to 2004 he led the integration of the Stimsonite acquisition in Avery Dennison’s reflective business and expanded the business globally.  From 1995 to 2000 Kamran was based in Luxembourg, Europe serving in many operational and technical roles including the director of European operations. Prior to that he was based in California and served in many operations and technical roles.

Kamran received his Engineering degree from California Polytechnic University in 1990. He joined Avery Dennison in 1985 and is currently based in Mentor, Ohio.


Garrett Gabel
Vice President—Global Finance, Label and Graphic Materials

Garrett Gabel is responsible for all global Label and Graphic Materials group finance activities and providing insights into the marketplace and Label and Graphic Materials group’s business performance.

Gabel has been at Avery Dennison since 2003, having held a broad range of responsibilities in multiple regions and business units, including finance leadership roles in Asia and Europe. Most recently, he served as vice president, finance and investor relations for the  Avery Dennison corporation.

Garrett earned an MBA from the Anderson School of UCLA and a BBA in financial economics from Bowling Green State University.

Ken Schwartz
Vice President and Assistant General Counsel—Label and Graphic Materials

Ken Schwartz is an attorney who leads the global Label and Graphic Materials group’s legal team. Ken and his global team are responsible for all aspects of legal matters affecting the company’s operations, including: regulatory compliance; contract preparation management and enforcement; investigations (internal and external); litigation and dispute resolution; and intellectual property (including inventions, patents, and trade secrets).  

Ken joined Avery Dennison in 2006 after 16 years in private law firm practice in Cleveland and Chicago.  

He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and political science from Kent State University and a Juris Doctor and Master of Arts joint degree from University of Illinois.  

Ken lives in Ohio, has two teenage daughters, and is a fitness and outdoor enthusiast.

Roland Simon
Vice President, Global Procurement and Corporate Sustainability—Label and Graphic Materials

Roland Simon is responsible for strategy and management of the Label and Graphic Materials Group global spend for both direct and indirect materials.

Prior to Avery Dennison, Roland held the CPO position at Ferro Corporation for four years after spending 23 years at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in a variety of manufacturing and procurement positions in Asia and throughout Europe.  

Roland earned his bachelor's degree in Physics-Engineering from Washington & Lee University and a master’s of business administration from the Durham Business School.

Roland joined Avery Dennison in 2011 and is based in Mentor, Ohio.

Henrik Kajueter
Vice President, Strategy and Mergers and Acquisitions

Henrik is responsible for strategic planning as well as mergers and acquisitions for the Label and Graphics Materials group at Avery Dennison.

Henrik joined our company in 2008 as the Director of Marketing for the Europe region.  Prior to Avery Dennison Henrik held senior marketing positions at General Electric and DHL as well as an Associate Principal role at McKinsey & Co.

Henrik holds a Ph.D in Physics from Rutgers University, New Jersey, USA. He lives with his family near Duesseldorf, Germany.
