Transforming Road Sign Production with TrafficJet™

With more than 20 years of experience in the road signage industry, PSV of Mexico, based in Guanajuato, has specialized in the manufacturing of paints and vertical signs, continuously adapting to the technological evolution of the sector.

Before incorporating digital printing solutions, its production process relied on a wide variety of traditional methods, including screen printing, direct cutting of reflective materials, and electronic cutting. While these systems allowed them to meet industry demands, they also entailed longer processes, greater operational complexity, and limited efficiency.

The relationship with Avery Dennison began in 2017, marking the start of a transition toward more advanced technologies. The decision to adopt the TrafficJet™ Print System was driven by the need to optimize production times, simplify pre-press processes, and ensure sign durability through the system's integrated inks.

"The ease with which a sign can be printed with excellent finishes and high detail, along with the significant time savings in the manufacturing process, has been key for us," explains PSV Director, Jorge Alberto Pérez Guerrero

The implementation of the first TrafficJet™ CMSpot6 printer in 2018 represented a major change in the workshop. After nearly six years of operation, the company took another step forward by incorporating the latest technology, achieving even greater improvements in speed and efficiency with the TrafficJet Xpert.

One of the most significant changes was the complete elimination of screen printing as a production method, due to the labor-intensive processes required before and after ink application. With the new technology, productivity not only improved but also doubled, allowing the company to manufacture more sign panels in less time.

"The shift to TrafficJet has transformed our operation. Today, we are more efficient, more productive, and better able to respond to industry needs," says Jorge Alberto Pérez Guerrero.

The impact is also reflected in the workforce. Thanks to proper training from the outset and ongoing technical support, the learning curve was smooth. Operators quickly adopted the technology and highlighted its ease of use as one of its main benefits.

"It has definitely been a very satisfying experience. It is a system we fully recommend to other signage shops," says Jorge Alberto Pérez Guerrero.

Today, the company continues to invest in innovation, strengthening its position through more agile, efficient processes aligned with the highest quality standards.
