Avery Dennison Introduces CMSpot6™ Ink Configuration for TrafficJet™ Digital Print System

Technological achievement offers industry-leading durability and 10-year warranty

Niles, IL - March 1, 2017 Avery Dennison today announced that its TrafficJet digital print system now includes the CMSpot6 ink conifguration, which replaces standard process yellow and black CMYK ink set with more durable spot yellow and black inks. This revolutionary development in traffic sign digital printing provides industry-leading durability and eliminates design compromise sometimes seen with using standard highway colors. In addition, Avery Dennison offers an unprecedented 10-year warranty for any color printed on Avery Dennison's high intensity prismatic sheeting.

"Avery Dennison continually innovates to provide the most durable, flexibile and industry-leading solutions in the digital traffic sign printing space," said Tammy Rucker, business development manager at Avery Dennison. "CMSPot6 offers the proven performance of spot yellow and black when combined with our cyan and magenta process and extends the color gamut by 37%."

She finished, "This allows agencies to create community identity by including colorful images on custom signs, and they don't have to compromise on the shorter life of process colors or increase their maintenance budgets to address an inconsistent warranted sign life."

Traditional ink configuration allowed for CMYK cartridges plus four traffic spot colors, and users would have to choose which four of the six traffic colors to include in the traffic sign printing. With CMSpot6, the black and yellow colors in the CMYK ink set are replaced with spot yellow and black with dual roles to print specification-compliant traffic signs, and blends them with cyan and magenta for custom-colored images. In addition, by opening up two additional ink bays, all six highway spot colors can be loaded with cyan and magenta for expanded design and print possibilities.

CMSpot6 comes standard on all TrafficJet printers manufactured after October 2016. CUstomers looking to upgrade an older TrafficJet printer are encouraged to contact their Avery Dennison sales representative for details. TrafficJet is a complete inkjet printing system for traffic safety and reflective sign producers as well as government agencies that produce or purchase signage.
